Camila Giorgi ((:kaˈmiːla ˈdʒordʒi); born 30 December 1991) is an Italian professional tennis player of Argentinian background. Giorgi won her first WTA Tour title at the 2015 Topshelf Open, and has also won five singles titles on the ITF tour in her career. On 27 July 2015, she reached her best singles ranking of world number 30. Giorgi's biggest professional wins have come at the 2013 US Open, 2014 BNP Paribas Open, and 2014 Aegon International, defeating former world no. 1 players Caroline Wozniacki, Maria Sharapova, and Victoria Azarenka, respectively. ==Personal life==
Giorgi is Jewish. Both of Giorgi's parents, Claudia (a fashion designer, who designs all her feminine tennis outfits—a different design for each match) and Sergio Giorgi, are from La Plata in Argentina, from where they emigrated to Italy.〔 The Giorgi family was based in Pisa, Italy, as of September 2013.〔 She is one of four children.〔 Her older brother Leandro is studying to be an actor, and younger brother Amadeus is a developing pro football player.〔 She had a sister named Antonela who died in a car accident in Paris. Her father was drafted in Argentina in 1982, and fought in the Falklands War; he now coaches Camila full-time.
